Cheryl Janice Davis

Cheryl Janice Davis, 76, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away on June 21, 2026. Born April 21, 1950, in Norfolk, Virginia to Charles and Janice James, she is also preceded in death by her loving husband, J.R. Davis and brother, Charles D. James.

Cheryl lived a life marked by steady devotion and a deep, abiding faith. She will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who were blessed to know her.

Cheryl’s days were shaped by what mattered most to her. Her greatest passion was teaching Sunday School at her local church. She loved reading and was especially committed to studying the Bible, with a devoted interest in Bible prophecy. Her faithful heart was also evident in the way she embraced evangelism and street ministry, giving of herself in service and care for others with quiet conviction and purpose.

She is survived by her cousin Thomas Hobbs and his wife Levon ; nephews: Cory and Dustin James and many nieces and nephews and church members.

Visitation will be held at Long Leaf Baptist Church, 317 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, North Carolina 28412, on June 27, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

The Funeral Service will start at 11:00 am with Pastor Joshua Reilly officiating.

Entombment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, North Carolina 28412, following the Funeral Service, on June 27, 2026.

Cheryl’s faithful presence and devoted spirit will be deeply missed, and her memory will remain a beloved blessing to those who carry her love forward.
