Clacy "Leo" Rogers

Clacy "Leo" Rogers, 81, of Wilmington, NC, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at his residence. He was born December 27, 1933 at Flat Top, WV. He was the son of the late Walter Johnson Rogers and Sadie Richmond Rogers. He was employed at Murray Construction for thirty-three years where he acquired many, many friends. He will always be remembered by his witty remarks and a person with great pride and wisdom in his work, on the job or anything he performed. Surviving is his wife of ten years, Carolyn Bass Rogers of the home, sons Walter Leo Lester (Ginny) of Flat Top, WV, James Lee Rogers (Kathy) and Dwayne Rogers of Athens, Alabama, daughter Cynthia Dunnham of Lexington, Kentucky, stepdaughter Regina and husband Charles Walters of Orrum, NC, stepsons Douglas G. Edwards of Orrum, NC and Larry Meares (Jenny) of Pittsburg, PA, sisters, Doris Holt (Tom) of Davisburg, MI and Willa Moose (Frank) of Concord, NC, brother, Frances Scott Rogers (Becky) Salem, WV, eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, March 30, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road and other times at the home, 153 Presidio Drive, Wilmington, NC. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 31 at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road, Wilmington, NC with Pastor Larry Cartrette and Pastor John Spence officiating. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Neil Musselwhite and his staff and Lower Cape Fear Hospice for their kindness, compassion and support.
