Clyde E. Simser passed away on February 18, 2021 at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Born on September 3, 1934 in Mexico, New York, he was the seventh of nine children born to Jerbin James and Harriet Cecilia Dehm Simser.
He joined the Air Force and was stationed in San Antonio, Texas. He had a love of music and beautiful voice and it was there that he was the lead singer and guitar player for his country music band and where he met his future wife, Ann. They moved to NC where his wife was from and he resided there until his death.
Mr. Simser was preceded in death by his wife, Ann, his daughter, Pam, brothers, Robert and Laurence and sister, Geraldine.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly S. King and grandson, Brandon Ywaskevic, both of Kernersville, NC, son, Clyde E. (Eddie) Simser II and wife, Tia Matthews Simser of Pittsboro, NC, granddaughter, Kori (Riahn) Brewington, great granddaughters, Kensley and Kaleigh of Wilmington, NC, brothers, David Simser, (Texas) and Melvin Simser, (California), sisters, Dorothy Hoyt, (Texas), Alice Ziebarth, (Minnesota) and Margaret Simser, (California). He is also survived by his oldest daughter Belinda Miller (Texas).
The Family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation of Wilmington, especially Courtney Johnson, for their loving care of our Daddy for the last 5 ½ years. We appreciate all you have done for him and our family. We would also like to thank Drs. Lee and Green and their care team at NNHRMC for your compassion for our family during this difficult and unprecedented time.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021, 3:00 PM at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
