On November 29th, 2021, Daniel "Danny" Paulter, affectionately known to his children and grandchildren as "Pop Pop,” was called home to be with his heavenly Father and earthly father after a battle with Covid-19 complications. He was 69 years old.
Danny was born January 13th, 1952 to Samuel Joseph and Mattie Orlena Paulter (née King) in Saddle Brook, NJ. Though out childhood he and his family were active parishioners of St Philip the Apostle Roman Catholic Church and later graduated from Saddle Brook High School in 1971. The middle child of seven, he is survived by his brothers and sisters: Louis (Sharon), Elaine (James), Judith, Thomas (Maria), John "Jackie", and Ronald (Heidi).
Danny began his career as a mechanic and bodyman in Saddle Brook, NJ before relocating to Wilmington, NC in 1988 where he became a well-regarded and accomplished HVAC tradesman.
Danny could normally be found enjoying a cup of coffee with friends and family. Danny could keep up his end of a conversation and knew a little bit about everything. His favorite topics were photography, computers, cars, his family, and God, but mostly he loved his people and was always there to counsel, console or discuss whatever was on their mind.
Danny will be remembered as a kind, generous person, always offering and looking to help others around him, and never asking for anything in return.
A forever loving son, brother, father, and Pop Pop, Danny is survived by his Mother and six siblings, three children Nicole (Jackie) Locklear (Rocky Point, NC), Jessica (James) Wilson (Rocky Point, NC), and Joseph “Joe” Paulter (Reston, VA), and four grandchildren Michelle, Courtney, Jayden, and Jacob.
Danny will be forever missed and loved. He wouldn't want us to mourn for him, but instead to celebrate his life and the connections he made. In Danny’s honor, please take the time to pour a cup of Dunkin’ coffee and spend some time visiting with someone you love. Make them laugh and learn, and most of all, let them know they matter. That’s the legacy he leaves and the one that would matter to him most.
A gathering of family and friends for Daniel will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Coble Funeral and Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, North Carolina 28412.
A celebration of life service will start on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 1:00 PM, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, North Carolina 28412 with Pastor Angelo of Wrightsboro United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow.
