David F. Sandlin III

David's journey in life was marked by significant achievements and a passion for the things he loved. He graduated from New Hanover High School and pursued his passion for baseball at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. His dedication and talent led him to be drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals, an accomplishment that brought him immense pride.

Beyond his professional achievements, David cherished the simple joys of life. He had an enduring love for the beach and his family. His adored dog, Jet, held a special place in his heart.

After a successful career, David eventually retired from Wachovia/Wells Fargo, leaving a legacy of hard work and dedication.

David is survived by his loving wife, Tina Sandlin of Carolina Beach, NC; son, Tyler Sandlin of Wilmington, NC; daughter, Jennifer Bess (Eric) of Staunton, VA; granddaughter, Adrienne Sandlin of Staunton, VA; and his cousin, Jim Hobbs (Peggy).

A visitation will be held from 2-4 pm, Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel 4108 S. College Road in Wilmington, with a memorial service starting at 4 pm.
