Born May 27, 1949 in Wilmington, he was a son of James Edward Watkins and Myrtle Garner Watkins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a niece, Amanda Futrell.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Watkins; his son, Marc Watkins; his siblings, William “Shorty” Watkins (Pam), Ed Watkins (Sylvia), Steve Watkins (Rosemary), Marie Watkins, Douglas Watkins (Susie) and Arlene Futrell (George); special brother-in-law, Joseph "Joey" Gore and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He loved his dogs, NASCAR and enjoyed fishing and Gospel music. He will be remembered as a man who loved his family.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Andrews Market Street.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Monday, March 5, 2018 at Wrightsboro United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
