

Deborah Smith Lewis, 54, of Castle Hayne, passed away, Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. She was born October 9, 1959, in Wilmington, to Barbara Rivenbark Smith and the late Jerry Smith. Deborah fought cancer with a warrior spirit and glorified God through her illness. Her fight was a ministry to other people. She enjoyed tending to her garden, fishing, skiing, bird watching and loved nature. She was also a talented watercolor artist. Survivors include her husband, who is employed with Albert Rhodes Jewelers, Richard Lewis; mother, Barbara Smith; sister, Chris Steger (Bobby); niece, Cameron Wall (Richard), nephew, Samuel Steger (Alexis); mother-in-law, Patty Lewis; sister-in-law, Joann Guttman; Richard's niece and nephew, Stephanie Caulder and Phillip Caulder (Suzette) and many loving and supporting family and friends. The family will receive visitors from 6-8pm, Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
