In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Burke, Jr. and brother-in-law, Phil Stephens.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 48 years, Debora M. Burke; a son, Dennis M. Burke Jr. and his wife, Carla; a daughter, Denise
"Michele" Burke; granddaughter, Kierianna Capps; his sisters, Melody Stephens and Linda Ferrigno and her husband, Vince; his mother-in-law, Hellene Glazebrook and brother-in-law, Randy Merritt. He also leaves his cats,Winston, Cheddar, Betsy and Mr. Jinx as well as his horses, Xena, Jimmy, Bambi and Belle.
Dennis spent many years owning and operating a residential painting business.
A Graveside Service will be held at Seagate Cemetery, 52nd Street, Wilmington on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 11:00 am.
Directions to Seagate Cemetery: Turn off Oleander Drive onto 52nd Street and follow to the end, it takes you right into the cemetery.
