1960-2018

Dennis John Walsh, 57, passed away while sleeping. His fight with leukemia, while short, was courageous and strong, however unfortunately led to his passing on May 14, 2018. He was born on November 4, 1960 to William F. and Mary (Morris) Walsh in Brooklyn, NY.

Dennis graduated from Marist College in 1982. On September 27, 1986 he married Karin Westervelt, and they have been together for 31 years. Dennis enjoyed sports, conversing, and making people laugh by sharing a joke. He was an avid worker in multiple aspects of the food service industry.

Survivors include his wife, Karin; three sons, Ryan, Frank and his wife Samantha, and Tim and his wife Kelsey; 1 daughter, Kerry; 2 Brothers, Richard and Joseph; 2 Sisters, Marianna and Noreen; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews as well as an enormous extended family. Dennis had also made a family of all the friends he surrounded himself with, who carry on his memory.

Dennis was predeceased by his father, William F., his mother, Mary, and his brother, William.

A time of gathering will be held on Friday, May 25th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Andrews Mortuary and Crematory located at 1617 Market Street, Wilmington, NC. There will additionally be a funeral service at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the Basilica Shrine of Saint Mary, located at 412 Ann St, Wilmington, NC. Following the funeral, there will be a celebration of life held at the Grand Lanai in Compass Pointe.
