

Our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather joined our mother in Heaven on February 23, 2023. He was born on April 21, 1925, in Vivian, La. Dewitt is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elizabeth of 52 years, and his five siblings. He is survived by his children; daughter Mary and husband Jack; his son, James, and wife Jennie; his daughter Susan, and son, Dewitt Jr., and husband Phillip; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Dewitt served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946, during World War II, where he fought in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign of the Guadalcanal. Dewitt graduated from Northwestern University, where he met his wife Elizabeth, and worked in the Oil and Gas industry until retirement. He was a true patriot and man of devout Christian faith. He was a true example and taught us the importance of God, family, love, and perseverance. His love and laughter will be deeply missed.
Visitation is March 7th from 5:00-7:00 pm at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home - 4525 Bissonnet St
Bellaire, TX 77401. The family will hold a private graveside service the following morning.
