She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Joseph Bertetto as well as brothers Michael Cordera and Peter Cordera: sisters Mary Naysnerski and Marjorie Holmes: nephew Brian Cordera. She is survived by her daughter Janet Tufano and son-in-law John.
Minnie spent her youth in Manchester and contributed to the war effort in WWII as a parachute assembler but, because of her excellent skills was also responsible for necessary repairs.
When she married Joseph in 1946, she moved to Manhattan where she raised a family and worked. One of her most pleasant working experiences occurred during her time working for the food service at the NY School for Art and Design where she met up and coming fashion designers which included Calvin Klein.
13 years ago, Minnie moved from Queens to reside with her loving daughter Janet and son-in-law, John. During these years she has brought love and interesting stories to all she has encountered. Many of the members of the 2006-2008 Newcomers Club of Wilmington will remember her as fondly as she has remembered them.
A visitation will be held from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm - 8pm Monday, November 12, 2018 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service. A Funeral Service will be held at 10am Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at St. Marks Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
