Here's a school picture of Donnie from back in the days of Masonboro Sound.  Simpler times for sure.

Fond memories of "Donnie" and Masonboro Sound, where we used to play, at and around our grandparents' house, digging foxholes and wandering freely with little adult supervision.  Never forget the time he and Cousin Kermit tried to be like Huck Finn.  They built a raft and floated through the marsh, while I awaited their arrival at a pier far away.  Of course, the raft broke up, and they had to swim, screaming and crying in the distance.  When they finally arrived at the pier, as dark set in, they were greeted by several adult family members, as well as me.  Lots of spankings that night.  R.I.P., Cuz.

Susan, it deeply saddens me to hear of Donnie's passing.I am grateful to have known and fished with him.I will never forget his incredible sense of humor and how he added to my training as a fishermen. I will never forget how he looked out for me when we longlined together in the Gulf,he was my guardian angel and kept me in line on and off the boat! He holds a special place in my heart and i pray the Lord's peace will carry you through this difficult time!

Susan,sorry to hear of donnie's passing..will keep you in thoughts and prayers now and in the coming months. Memories of him will be in your heart forever.

Susan, I am thinking about you and praying for you.  Donnie was a good man.  It was easy to see how he loved you, and how he loved those horses. He was always so nice to Joshua and Buddy...and I remember how playful he would be with Joshua.  I will always think of him when hear the name "Doc" or "ZZ Top".

Susan, I am sad to hear about Donnie. He was a great man. I will never forget how much he helped me when I had my accident 29yrs ago. That is what I loved about Donnie, always willing to help if he could. I am honored to have known him. Bobby Brown

So sorry to hear of your loss Susan.  I will never forget the time Donnie got you and me in Landfall with our horses.  We had a great time-and two things I never will forget about it-when we were on top of a dirt "mountain" you on a very young horse and me on crazy "Fleetwood" and the security guard with the "manicured" eyebrows.
