Donald W. Fisher, 92, of Wilmington, NC, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center. Donald was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of WWII and proudly served in the US Navy in a construction battalion in the South Pacific. Donald was a member of the Carolina Yacht Club with a passion for sailing. He was a boating enthusiast who enjoyed building anything associated with boating or water activities. He was preceded in death by his wife, Valeria Hale Fisher. Survivors include his children, Zack Fisher and wife Sandra of Atlanta, GA and Mary Honbarrier and husband Reggie of Wilmington, NC and Eddie Houghton and wife Lisa also of Atlanta, GA. A funeral service will be held at 11am, Friday, October 31, 2014, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel with Rev. Pete Brown officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service beginning at 10am. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center.
