
He was born in Fitchburg, MA on November 19, 1940 to the late Antonio W. Godin, Sr. and Gladys L. (Beaubien) Godin. He graduated from Bellingham (MA) High School in 1958 and enlisted in the US Air Force, being honorably discharged in 1962. He worked his entire career for the NSA in Washington, DC. Upon his retirement in 1993, he moved to Boiling Spring Lakes, NC.
He was a lifetime member of the Boiling Springs Lake Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed playing Santa for many years during the fire department’s annual holiday celebration.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Antonio (“Billy”) W. Godin, Jr., Lawrence E. Godin, Stephen P. Godin and Gerald P. Godin.
He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Martinez and her husband Christopher, of Alexandria, VA, his son Robert Godin of Baltimore, MD, three sisters – Beverly A. Alward, Constance P. Schindler and JoAnne T. Namaka and a brother Philip G. Godin.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Cape Fear Memorial Park in Southport. Family and friends will return to the church hall for refreshments and remembrances.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Boiling Spring Lakes Volunteer Fire Department.
