

Donald Alexander White, Jr. passed away peacefully with his brother, David, and sister-in-law, Zhenya, by his side on November 29, 2022. He has been reunited with his parents Donald A. White Sr. and Margaret L. White.
Don was born in Pittsburgh, PA and lived there during his childhood before moving with his family to Whitemarsh near Philadelphia, where he graduated from Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School in Special Education. Later his parents moved to Wilmington, North Carolina where he began working in Landscape Services at The University of North Carolina, Wilmington. He was a dedicated worker for nearly 35 years before retiring in May 2013. He was a friendly face on campus, active in Christian Organizations in his earlier employment years, always volunteering to help students and their families on move-in day each year. He was proud of the Campus appearance and always took the families visitors to see the beauty of the Campus. Don was a friend to all who knew him at UNCW.
Survivors include his brother, David White, sister-in-law, Evgenia “Zhenya” White, sister, Barbara Miele, brother-in-law, Raymond Miele, nephew, Ethan Miele, niece, Brennan Miele, along with other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
A gathering of Family and Friends to celebrate his life will be held at 3 PM Saturday, December 10, 2022, at his brother’s home at 410 Arbor Way, Wilmington, NC.

The family extends their deepest appreciation to people of the Lower Cape Fear Hospice who were involved in his care, along with the health care professionals who worked with Don and his family to manage his condition during the past several years.
Don will live in our hearts forever.
