In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two stepdaughters, Connie Humphrey and Dixie Moen.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eva Cannon. Daughters; Mary Dowless (Clark) and Teresa Ward (Ricky). His son Donnie Lee Cannon, Jr. (Lisa). Stepdaughter, Dawn Moltumyr (David); 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Donnie enjoyed deer hunting and was a member of Sturgeon Creek Hunting Club in Brunswick County. He also hunted in Pender County.
Donnie was a long time member of Lake Forest Baptist Church.

A Graveside Service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Wilmington, NC 28412 on October, 17, 2023 at 10:30am. Donnie Lee Cannon, Jr will be officiating.
