Doris H. Markie, 92 of Wilmington, NC (January 24, 1934 - July 6, 2026). Born and raised in Yonkers, NY. Doris spent the majority of her adult life living in New City, NY and Milford, NJ before moving to Wilmington in 1994. Doris passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family.
She is predeceased by her husband, of 61 years, Victor Markie, Sr. and son-in-law, Scott Nicklas.
Doris is survived by her son, Victor Markie and his wife, Elizabeth of Wilmington and daughter, Cheryl Nicklas of Forest Hill, MD. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Intimate services to be held at Andrews Mortuary, Market Street Chapel, 1617 Market Street on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at a time to be determined. Interment to occur at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, NC at a later date.
