Beloved mother and devoted grandmother, Dorothy Lewis Butts, 84, of Wilmington, NC, passed away December 8, 2022, at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare center. She was born in Pender County, October 20, 1938, to the late William Jasper Lewis and Lydia Odessa Rivenbark Lewis.
She is survived by her former husband, Crayton Edward Butts, Sr.; son, Crayton “Eddie” Edward Butts, Jr. and his wife, Jennette Hines; son, Ronnie Butts Ronzello, and husband, David Ronzello; daughter, Deborah Jackson and her husband, Randy Morrarie; brother, Ira Lewis and his wife, Barbara; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Faye Lewis. Dorothy is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Alton Ray Lewis, and younger sister, Alice Faye Laverdure.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, located at 4108 S. College Rd., Wilmington, NC 28412. A visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service time. Interment will take place immediately after the service at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
