

Dot was born on September 15, 1943, in Salisbury, NC to George Dewitt Hall and Essie Keller Hall. She was the youngest of five children, spending her younger years in Rockwell, NC, the family then moved to Greenville, North Carolina. There she attended school, finishing her education as a graduate of East Carolina University. She married and moved to Durham, NC where they started a family. Shortly after, they moved to Raleigh, NC where she began her career as a librarian with North Carolina State University at the Harrye B. Lyons Design Library.
After retiring she enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family. Above all, she loved spending time with her two grandchildren and was looking forward to becoming a great-grandmother.
After the passing of her husband, she moved to Wilmington, NC where she lived for her final years.
Dot is survived by her daughter Pam and husband Tommy Bobbitt, daughter Lara and husband Randy Rose, granddaughter Sarah and husband Ryan Deese, grandson Tommy Bobbitt and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Ernest Bryant “Chuck” Hunt, sister Frances Hall, and brothers Ken, Bob and George Hall.
There will be a small service held at Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh, NC on Friday, August 14 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
Dot was a blessing to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and always loved.
