Dorothy Russell Kroeker Dorothy Russell Kroeker, 88, of Wilmington, died Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove. Dorothy was born February 27, 1926 in Asheboro, NC, daughter of the late Bessie Jane Ledwell. Her husbands, Lee Ervin Russell and Harry Kroeker, and her son, Jack Russell, preceded her in death. She retired as a greeter from Walmart. She enjoyed working in her yard swinging on her porch, music and life. Mother treasured her family. She was a loving and devoted wife and Mother until she left this earth in the arms of angels. She is survived by ,sons, Don Alligood (Dawn) , Glenn Russell (Amy) and Jimmy Russell (Tracey), and daughters, Faith Tritle (Bill) and Connie Boyette (Roland); grandchildren, Kim Meggett, Daniel Alligood, Michael Alligood (Nicole), Scott Tritle (Leslie), Micheal Beckwith (Shannon), Wesley Beckwith (Chrissy), Jeremy Russell (April), Joshua Russell (April), Lance Corporal Graham Russell, Carmella Escalante (Paul), Tyler and Breanna Russell; and numerous great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Andrews Valley Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1pm Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Andrews Valley Chapel with Rev. Joey Canady officiating. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions in Dorothy's honor may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401, or to the charity of one's choice.
