Dorothy "Dot" Lewis

Dot Lewis passed away of natural causes at Trinity Grove Nursing Home at the age of 99 (soon to be 100 on January 6, 2023). She was the mother of three children. Dot was preceded in death by her husband, French, of 78 years; a son, Bennett Lewis and a grandson, Lowell Lewis.

Surviving are her daughter, Gloria Lewis Ludewig (Lou – deceased) of San Antonio, TX; son, Gregory N. Lewis of Wilmington, NC; a grandson, Darren Lewis (Kim); and two great-grandchildren, Ashley Fink (Christopher) and Holden Lewis.

A devoted mom and wife, she loved the beauty of red cardinals in nature, surrounding herself with statues and artwork which represented their beauty. Dot was a charter member of Pine Valley United Methodist Church for 61 years. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and dancing.

The family would like to extend their special appreciation to the staff at Trinity Grove, Lower Cape Fear Life Care and Brenda Prince, her nurse/companion.

The family will receive visitors at 10:00 am Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Pine Valley United Methodist Church followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Oleander Memorial Gardens.

Donations in memory of Dot may be made to PVMC, Trinity Grove or Lower Cape Fear Life Care of Wilmington.
