Dorothy Taylor Page

Dorothy Taylor Page, 89, of Wilmington, NC, died Monday, December 20, 2010 at Liberty Commons Nursing Center. She was born on October 17, 1921, in Washington, NC, the daughter of the late Joseph Wright Taylor and Bertha Willis Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Harris Page, Sr., and a brother, Joseph W. Taylor, Jr. Mrs. Page was an active member of Winter Park Baptist Church for over fifty years. She was the former owner of Taylor Exterminating and was the first woman to receive her pest control license. Mrs. Page was active with her New Hanover High School class of 1939. She was also one of the founders of the Winter Park Community Center. Surviving are her three children, Harris Page and wife Linda, Bonnie Page and Joseph Page, all of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren, Shannon Page, Hollie P. Landen, Andy Page and Steve Page; three great grandchildren, Wesley Landen, Harrison Landen and Lillie Page; two nieces, Susan Taylor Block and family, and Ann Cherry; a nephew, Jay Taylor, III and wife Robin and family; other extended family in Little Washington, NC; a sister-in-law, Betty Taylor; and special friends, Nell Hunnicutt and Kay Head. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Andrews Market Chapel and following the service at the residence of Harris Page.
