Dorothy J. Ward

She was born in Wayne County in Goldsboro, NC on October 27, 1929, the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Howell.

Dorothy was raised in Goldsboro, NC and met my father at the age of 17. She was married to my father Mr. H.S. Ward Sr. for 68 years. My Mother was a homemaker and she dearly loved my father and her children and grandchildren. From the time my father got sick in 2004, she devoted her life to taking care of him until his death in 2012. She was a Christian woman who loved God and was a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church. We will miss her very much because she was so full of life, very vivacious, very friendly and loved to talk to people.

She had 4 children, 3 sons, Larry, Keith and Jimmy Ward who have preceded her in death and is survived by 1 daughter Katrina Harris and husband Jeff. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. 

Funeral Services will be held on at 2:00 PM on Monday September 12th, 2022 at Andrews Mortuary, Hampstead Chapel, 17780 Hwy North, Hampstead, NC, with a Visitation starting at 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow at Sea Lawn Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends and family after the funeral at 105 Oak Hills Drive, Rocky Point, NC.
