Born to RT and Margaret in Charlotte, NC, Doug attended Independence High School and Boone College and graduated from UNC-Charolotte.
Doug worked for many years in the film industry as a Property Master and then some years in clinical research before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tom. He is survived by and loved by his wife, Marianne of Wrightsville Beach and a sister Pam of Matthews, as well as aunts, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, friends, and his dog Duffy.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, a private service will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church at Wrightsville Beach.
