

Ed Andress ""Eddie the Baker"" Edward Albert Andress, Jr., 68, of Wilmington, peacefully died Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Eddie was born March 24, 1943 in Astoria, Queens, son of the late Edward A. Andress, Sr. and Helen Snyder Andress. Mr. Andress was a successful member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He was a member of Rock Church since 2002. Ed was a successful businessman, pastry chef, novelist, a godly man and loyal friend. He traveled the world as a merchant seaman. His favorite saying was: ""Success is not determined by how high you climb the mountain, but by the obstacles you overcome on the journey."" He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Coni Andress; three daughters, Cheryl Hermenau Wayne of Carver, MA, Christine Andress-DeLaCanal Ruben of Glendale, CA, and Fawn Lee Brian of Pensacola, FL; six grandchildren, Mitchell, Evan, Caroline, Tony, Brandon, and Cassie; and three brothers, Douglas, Richard, and Peter Andress. A memorial service will be 11am Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Rock Church with Rev. Bryan McGee and Rev. Ron McGee officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, at the church, from 10am until the service hour.
