November 11, 1942 – October 30, 2025
Elaine Herzog passed away quietly on October 30th, surrounded by love. Born on November 11, 1942, Elaine lived a life defined by generosity, humor, and a capacity for love that extended far beyond traditional boundaries.
Elaine was the mother to many. In her lifetime she became a guiding, presence to nine children who knew her as “Mom.” Through her marriage to Harry Crane (deceased), she had a daughter Christine, born to her, and helped raise Gary (deceased), Billy, Debbie, and Laura. Later, through her marriage to John Dietrick (deceased), her family grew to include Kim, Jeanette, Paula, and Jonnie (deceased). In her final marriage to Jerry Herzog (deceased), her heart made room again, welcoming Alan and Donna into her life when they were already adults. What mattered was love, care, and family.
She is survived by her beloved grandchildren: Molly, Flynn, Tony, Adam, Timmy, Teresa, Derick, Raevin, and Kori; and her cherished great-grandchildren; Gianna, Angelina, Anthony, Archie, Annabella, Adam, and Abel
Elaine was preceded in death by her brother, Teddy, and is reunited with him now.
Those who knew her will remember humor, her resilience, and her steady, unwavering love. She was unstoppable. Elaine’s later years were filled with the care and companionship of dear friends who stood by her with unwavering support, notably, The Church family, Crystal, Scott, and Case. Additionally, Izzy, Susan, Ann, and Tina also held special places in her life, surrounding her with friendship, and love. There are countless others, helpers, and kind souls, who, in large and small ways, made her days brighter. The family wishes to acknowledge their deep gratitude for the care, respect, and compassion shown to Elaine throughout her aging journey.
She found joy in the warmth of the sun, the sound of the ocean, and the peace that comes with being near the water. She loved to paint, losing herself in color and quiet creativity. Holidays were her favorite time for the laughter and togetherness they brought. Her and her children enjoyed pumpkin carving and Easter egg dying that became cherished family traditions. Creating moments of joy and connection was one of her greatest gifts.
Elaine’s life will be honored privately by her family now, with a memorial service to be held later in the year. In that future gathering, stories will be shared, memories will be held close, and the legacy of her love will be celebrated fully.
She is deeply loved. She will be deeply missed. And she will be remembered every day in the hearts of those who called her mother, sister, wife, and friend.
