Eleanor Blake Balcom

She was born November 28, 1943 in Wilmington, NC to Joseph Albert Blake and Arlena Coston Blake. She is preceded in death by: her parents, spouse Ronald James Balcom, brother Cecil Blake, sister Betty Ward and brother-in-law Eddie Ward.

She is survived by her children, Jay Balcom, Jay’s spouse Shannon, daughter Karen Hotnit, Karen’s spouse Glen, daughter Pamela Taylor, Pamela’s spouse Cameron, her sister Linda Baker, Linda’s spouse, Chuck, her brother Carl Blake, Carl’s spouse Sharon, sister Sheila Ramsey, Sheila’s spouse Richard, sister-in-law Linda E. Blake, eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She married Ronald James Balcom of Kansas City, Missouri in Wilmington, North Carolina October 19, 1963. She previously worked for the Kansas City Transit Authority.

There will be a public viewing on October 15, 2022 at Cobal Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial 1155 Shipyard Boulevard, Wilmington, North Carolina from 10:00 AM to 12 Noon followed by a private family graveside service at Parkview/Winter Park Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Officiant: Pastor Steve Gasque of Silver Lake Baptist Church.
