In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Louise Benton.
He is survived by his daughters: Donna Schreiner and Ginger Newton both of Wilmington; two grandchildren: Lacey and David Schreiner, both of Wilmington.
Ed or “Mr. B.” as he was sometimes called, was a devoted member of Sunset Park Baptist Church and the most generous and loving person you would ever meet. An employee of Piedmont Airlines from it’s beginning, he retired after 20 years to start his tax and accounting business which he ran for fifty years and is still in operation.
“Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your head and share with me God wanted me now, he set me free.”
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday February 1, 2017 at Sunset Baptist Church with Reverend Chris Wroten officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
