Elsie Bordeaux

On Sunday, September 1, 2019, Elsie Bordeaux went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 100.

Elsie was born on April 29, 1919 in Delco, NC to JD and Edell Hilburn. She was married to John Caldwell Bordeaux. Together they raised two children, Hildred and Everette.

Elsie had a passion for the Lord and her family. She and her husband were charter members of the Prosper Baptist Church. She was a fashionable dresser, and shoes were her favorite accessory. Elsie was a talented musician and played many instruments, to include being a pianist at her church. She was self-taught and played by ear. She also loved to take care of cats, bird watch and was a very proud member of the National Society of the United States Daughters of Eighteen Hundred and Twelve. Elsie was known for her quick wit, intelligence and her kind and compassionate spirit.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, John Caldwell Bordeaux, her mother and father JD and Edell Hilburn, her two sisters, Grace Hayes and Clarice Millinor, and two brothers, Rodney Hilburn and Eugene Hilburn. She is survived by her children Hildred Winfrey and Everette Bordeaux (Barbara), her five grandchildren Jesse Bullard (Rhonda), Jan Freeman (Glen), Andrew Turner (Trish), Michele Deans (Ken), and Kris Bordeaux (Rachel), nine great grandchildren Craig Freeman, Kendra Landrum (Spencer), Drew Turner, Sumer Carlos (Josue), Bailey Turner, Ashley Deans, Cassidy Bullard, Abby Bullard, Emily Bullard, Imelda Bullard, Austin Bordeaux, and Madison Bordeaux and two great great grandchildren Skyler Carlos and Ryder Landrum.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on September 4, 2019 at Prosper Baptist Church. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and burial will follow.
