

Ernest (Bill) Madison Curry, Jr., age 61 of Wilmington went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on July 29th at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. He was born on August 30, 1954 in Eden, NC. He leaves behind a loving wife of 25 years, Teresa Curry, daughter Becky Nichols of McLeansville, NC, daughter Michelle Moore (Ryan) of Wilmington, an adopted daughter Sharon Foust of McLeansville, NC, three grandchildren, two Godsons, sister Sharon Curry Frost (Steve) of Cary, NC and sister Debbie Curry of Wilmington. He was predeceased by his mother, Gail Burnette Curry and his father Ernest Madison Curry, Sr.
He was a member of Scotts Hill Baptist Church and Ed Davis' Sunday School Class.
Bill was a fun-loving, generous and kindhearted man who enjoyed cooking for various civic and law enforcement agencies in New Hanover County. He faithfully served the citizens of New Hanover County for 35 years as a law enforcement officer at Carolina Beach, Wrightsville Beach and New Hanover County Sheriff's Department.
The family will receive friends at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel on Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 am at Scotts Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The New Hanover County Sheriff's Department Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to his many medical providers and the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center.
