Esther Brown

Esther’s greatest joy was spending time with “the best family anyone could ever ask for” by taking her family, and sometimes her sister Lois, on vacations of their choice. These vacations included Hawaii, Las Vegas, Clear Creek Ranch, and every year a week at Kure Beach, NC. She loved to golf, fish, and play games, especially bridge.

Surviving are her daughters, Gaye Moon and husband Joe & Lynn Hillenbrand and husband Chuck all of Wilmington, NC. Son, Herbie Brown and wife Monica of Tucson, AZ, grandchildren, Bill McClanahan and wife Reed, Madeline Hillenbrand, Rain Brown, Ashleigh and Kris Moon, great-grandchildren, Cameron and Cooper McClanahan, Ethan Moon, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Herbert H. Brown (USMC Retired), brothers, Myrl Dove (killed in Korea), T.J. Dove (Jo) (US Army Retired) and Charles Dove (Peggy), sister & best friend, Lois Bibb (Freeman).

Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, March 9,2021 at Sea Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 17750 Hwy 17 N Hampstead, NC, 28443.
