He was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 24, 1937, the youngest of six children, son of Maria and Henry DaSilva. He also was preceded in death by his siblings, Gloria VonOiste, Frank DaSilva, and Henry DaSilva.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife Irene of 53 years, three children; Jennifer of NJ, Christopher and Stephen of NY and his siblings Irene and Martha of Staten Island, NY.
He graduated from the elite Brooklyn Technical High School at the age of 16 and went on to graduate from City College of NY with a degree in mechanical engineering. He continued his education at both Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Rutgers University for electrical engineering, and became a member of the Society of Professional Engineers. While working for AT&T, Eugene attended and graduated New York Law School in 1987 and was admitted to the NJ and Washington DC bar. He worked as a legal mediator for the state of NC.
Eugene served in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Greely, Alaska from 1961-1963 and served in the Army Reserve from 1963-1967.
He also served as president of Vocal of New Hanover County for several years.
Eugene was an avid lover of cars, music, and animals.
Services were held privately.
