Frances Bowden Deabenderfer

Frances Bowden Deabenderfer, age 64, of Leland, North Carolina passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine, her parents, Carolyn Williams Bowden and Edwin Wells Bowden, Sr, her aunts Helen Williams Swartz and Margaret Williams Cassara, and her uncle Norwood Elwyn (Skeeter) Williams.

Frances was born in Wallace NC and attended Wallace Rose-Hill High School. She was proud to be from Duplin County and found great joy in hearing stories from her childhood. After graduating from UNCW, she enjoyed working as a medical coder.

Frances is survived by her loving son, Blaine Lynden Deabenderfer, of Leland NC.

She is also survived by her brother Edwin Wells Bowden, Jr. (Jane) and Edwin’s daughter Chelsea (all of Wilmington) and sister Linda Bowden Turner (Mt. Airy).

Also surviving is Frances’ mother’s twin, Marilyn Williams Williams and Marilyn’s children Kathe (Wilmington) and son Franklin (Julia) of Utah; the John T. Swartz, Jr. family (Raleigh); the family of Norwood Williams, as well as other relatives and close friends of the family.

A private gathering of close family will be held.
