Gary S. Butch Martin

Born in Wilmington on September 12, 1947, son of the late Edwin Bishop and Ethel Lee (Hubbard) Martin.

Butch enjoyed the great outdoors, from fishing and hunting to golf, and boating he enjoyed it all! Butch also loved to cook and was very good at it. He spent many years working as a lineman for AT&T until his retirement. 

He leaves his dear partner, Peggy Devine Segars, 5 daughters, Stephanie Garcia (Adolfo), Sandra Marlow (Michael), Amy Fowler (Charles), Kelly Martin (Scott Capoot), and MacKenzie Martin; 11 grandchildren,  Brittany, Corry, Mallory, Riley, Ethan, Brayden, Stephan, Madison, Kandace, Dillon, Bennett, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Bruce and Jimmy Martin, and 5 nieces, Melissa, Mandi, Jennifer, Lindsey, and Staci. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Martin and a special cousin, Pat Ferdinando.

Memorial services for Butch will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 3:00 PM with visiting from 2-3 pm at the Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Rd., Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Hospice, with gratitude for the exceptional care given to their father.
