

Gary Franklin Saburn, age 78, of Delco, NC passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center. Gary was the eldest of four to Harold and Geraldine Saburn. Gary proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era as a machinist. He continued his career as a machinist working at Federal Paper and International Paper. All of his life he served in some capacity at church sharing his love for the Lord. He was a dedicated husband, father, papa and friend that will be dearly missed.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, brother Harold Saburn, sister-in-law Carroll Baxley and father-in-law JW Baxley.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margie Baxley Saburn, daughter Amber Brown (Warren), son Kyle Saburn (Paige), grandsons Garrett Brown (Katelin) and Lucas Hall (Samantha), granddaughters Hannah Escoto (Cesar) and Caroline Saburn, great-grandsons Sawyer Brown, Beau Brown and Josiah Escoto, great-granddaughter Leah Pacheco, brother Bruce Saburn (Sandy), sister Sue Ray, brother-in-law John Baxley (Juli), mother-in-law Bernice Baxley and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Crosswinds Church, 445 Lanvale Rd, Leland, NC. Family visitation will be held @ 2pm with the service following @ 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request donations in Gary’s memory to Lower Cape Fear Hospice or Crosswinds Church.
