Hanson Eugene ""Gene"" Peterson, Jr. 43, of Wilmington, NC, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born in Mt. Airy, NC, December 30, 1967, and was the son of Shirley Irene Stokley Peterson of Wilmington and the late Hanson Eugene Peterson, Sr. Gene was employed as an associate with Wal-Mart Sigmon Road for the past eight years. He loved listening to music and was a big fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Chicago Cubs. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his wife, son, and family. Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Elizabeth Dyer Peterson and their son, Draven Reznor Peterson of the home; his daughter, Kayla Marie Peterson of TX; and his feline companions, Omen and JuJu. His family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2011, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.
