Grady "Don" Clifton Lawson, Jr.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Grady Clifton Lawson, Sr. and Mary Alene Broadhurst.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Lawson of Leland, NC; son, Vincent Lawson (Anna) of Lusby, MD; daughter, Tchauna Lawson (Brian) of Leland, NC; son, Donavin Jaye of Wagoner, OK; stepchildren, Brandon and Deanna Boswell both of Leland, NC; brothers, Johnny Lawson and Steven Lawson (Kat) of Rocky Point, NC; and sisters, Barbara Ennett (Mike) of Rocky Point, NC and Christy Janssen (Steve) of Gatesville, TX. He also left behind many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Don was a retired Navy veteran of 20 years. After retiring from the Navy, he went into the trucking industry with MCO transport in Wilmington, NC.

Many will remember Don as an avid listener and he knew how to keep a smile on your face no matter how bad of a day you were having. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the great pleasure of knowing such a special man. He had many wonderful friends and adopted children whom he loved all the same. He leaves behind two fur babies as well.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 11:00am at Coble Ward-Smith, Oleander Chapel in Wilmington, NC. Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA at a later date.
