Gus will be remembered for kindness, warmth, and the love shared with family and friends, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Gus was born in Nestani, Greece and moved to Wilmington, where he attended Sunset Park Elementary School, Sunset Junior High School and graduated from New Hanover High School.
He was preceded in death by his father, Panagiotis Katris and his younger brother, Angelo Katris.
He is survived by his mother, Maria Katris Spyropoulos, brother, Panagiotis (Pete) Katris, his dear aunts, Dena Poulos & Irene Haralambous and his cousins, Koula Poulos Katsikis (Basile), Argie Poulos Brown (Doug), & John Poulos (Athena)
A Private family funeral will be announced at a later date.
