Harold F. Beatty

It is with great sadness that the family of Harold F. Beatty announces his passing on August 1, 2015 in Wilmington, NC. He was born on September 20, 1934 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the son of Alfred and Edna Beatty. Harold is preceded in death by three brothers Robert, Kenneth and Gordon. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pat and son Jeff Beatty of Cary, NC, daughter Sandy Beatty Elson of Jacksonville, FL and son Matt Beatty of Lake In The Hills, IL and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Richard Beatty of Beamsville, Ontario, Canada. Harold worked for the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company for 43 years. His career started in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and continued in Bloomington-Normal Illinois as the Plant Manager. He concluded the last eight years of his career as an Engineering Consultant in the Des Moines, Iowa Firestone plant. He proudly served as the Commander of the Cape Fear Sail and Power Squadron, Wilmington. A memorial service will be held at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road, Wilmington, NC on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
