Hazel Marie Dezern Ashworth, of Castle Hayne, died Friday, January 11, 2013 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born in Harnett County, NC, March 10, 1932 the daughter of the late Clayner and Lula Dezern, and one of seven brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Arvey Dezern, Stacey Oxendine, Jimmy Dezern, and Willie Dezern. Surviving are Betty Cascell and Paul Dezern. She is survived by two children, Carolyn Arneson and husband Timothy and Charles Ashworth and wife Patsy. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Tasha Wilson and husband Willie and Jeremy Ashworth and wife Barbara, three great grandchildren, Ana and Lula Stewart and Savanah Ashworth. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She walks among angels now, forever, and always. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 PM on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Andrews Market Street Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 3 PM, Monday, at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
