Helen Schwartz Taylor

Helen Schwartz Taylor of Calabash, NC, the daughter of the late Franz and Katharina Schwartz, died peacefully on January 11, 2010 at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Bruck an der Donau, formerly Czechoslovakia on May 7, 1941. Helen was an amazing sister, friend and Aunt. Helen was devoted to her church and family and was like a mother to her many nieces and nephews. She has touched her friends and family's lives and hearts deeply and her love for life will never be forgotten. She retired in 1999 from the Army Corps of Engineers where she had many close friends and co-workers. Helen was predeceased by her sister, Hildegard, her nephew Edward and niece Ramona Schwartz. She is survived by her brothers Franz and wife Gisela Schwartz, Gregory and wife Frances Schwartz of Wilmington, NC, William and wife Pat Schwartz of Greensboro, NC, Josef and wife Irma Schwartz of Augsburg, Germany, Otto Schwartz of Calabash, NC, and her sister, Maria ""Mitzi"" and husband Ford McDonald of Calabash, NC, 6 nieces, 8 nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews and a stepdaughter, a stepson and a step-granddaughter. Helen was loved dearly and will be missed forever. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Castle Hayne at 11:00 am Friday, January 15, 2010. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Donations can be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Building Fund or to a charity of your choice.
