Helen Faye Watson

Surrounded by her loving family, Helen met sweet Jesus, Thursday, January 6, 2011, after a courageous fight with cancer. Helen was married to Archie A.C Watson for 42 years. Together they had four beautiful children; Gail Yvonne Watkins Wayne, Sonya Lynn Spivey Robbie, Alicia Carey Larsen Mike and her beloved and deceased son Alan Troy Watson 1972-1992. Helen, also known as ""Big Mama"" to her cherished grandchildren, Wayne Jackson Watkins III, Ashley Brook Larsen, Aaron Rock Larsen, and Connor Alan Spivey, and one great-grandchild Addison Sage Watkins. Helen is survived by her brother Marion Hatcher Elaine and Brenda Parker Archie. She is now reunited in heaven with her parents, Norman and Adelaide Hatcher, her brother Russell Buddy Hatcher, and her sister Dorothy Collins. Helen was a long time member of Freedom Baptist Church. She loved family and was always laughing and preaching about her Savior. Everyone who knew Helen will tell you she loved the Lord and she loved life. Helen enjoyed gathering with family and friends. She had many special nieces, nephews and extended family. The family would like to thank the Zimmer Cancer Clinic, especially Dr. Nichols, Dr. Ungaro, and the chemo and radiation team. Becasue of inclement weather, the funeral service has been rescheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Billy Fowler and the Rev. Dodd Mays will officiate.
