Henry "Owen" Herring, Sr.

Henry Owen Herring, Sr., 54, of Wilmington, died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Owen was born November 21, 1953 in Wilmington, NC, son of the late James R. Herring, Sr. and Patricia F. Powell Herring. Mr. Herring was a member of Castle Hayne Baptist Church. He had a zest for life and an immense love for his family, friends, and church. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dorothy “Dot” Herring; son, Henry Herring, Jr. and wife, Kristin, of Wilmington; daughter, Jennifer Sullivan and husband, Ben, of Leland, NC; granddaughter, Emma Olivia Herring; three brothers, Jimmy Herring and wife, Cheryl, of Harrells, NC, Johnny Herring and wife, Linda, of Freeman, NC, and Donald Herring and wife, Joy, of Leland, NC; and a multitude of other family and friends. Thanks to a special friend, Mike Masone and Alfies Restaurant, and the staff of NHRMC for their comforting words and compassionate care. The family will receive friends from 4pm to 6pm Sunday, December 23, 2007, at Andrews Market Street Chapel. A funeral service will be 10am Monday, December 24, 2007, at Castle Hayne Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
