

Hilda was born January 27, 1935 to the late Robert and Annie Hewett in Wilmington, N.C.. She was preceded in death by her husband Alton B. Porter; brothers, Robert, William and George Hewett; sisters, Mary Anne Faircloth and Lenora Allen.
Hilda is survived by a brother, Ernest (Marsha) Hewett, sons Randy and Mitch (Georgia) Porter of Rocky Point, and Keith Porter of Burgaw. Surviving daughters are Connie (Ken) Kramer of Mechanicsburg, PA. and R. Lynn (Earl) Malpas of Ernul, N.C..
Hilda’s surviving grandchildren included Brittany (Danny) Bair, Dustin (Karissa) Kramer, Sharon Porter, Jeremiah Malpass, Elizabeth (James) Mims, Sam Glazier and Michael Glazier and great-grandchildren, Dallas and Sadie Bair, Everett and Reid Kramer, Isabelle, Laurie and Katie Mims, all of who were Hilda’s pride and delight!
Many organizations and businesses benefited by Hilda’s creative design and artistic abilities all over Wilmington. Because of her benevolence and caring for others many kindnesses were extended to her.
A private, family viewing will be held at Andrews Mortuary. Friends, family and close acquaintances are invited to celebrate her life at a graveside service on July 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.. This will be conducted at Greenlawn Cemetery ( Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington) and will be officiated by Reverends Ken Kramer and Earl Malpass.
Any flowers should be sent to Andrews Mortuary, 1617 Market Street in Wilmington no later than July 12, 2018.
