Holly Ruth Pankey Kelly

Hollie Ruth Pankey Kelly 86, of Wilmington, NC died Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at her home.  Ruth was born on November 19, 1932 in Anson County, NC daughter of the late Daniel James and Rona Owen Pankey.  Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kelly, daughters-in-law Becky Meshaw and Cindy Meshaw, and sisters Hazel Pankey Grizzle and Sarah Louise Pankey Cribb.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Meshaw (wife Cheryl), of Greenville, NC, Eddie Meshaw (wife Beverly) of Wilmington, NC, Greg Meshaw of Lexington, NC, Terry Meshaw (wife Rebecca) of Rocky Point, NC, sister Cornelia Carter (husband Phil) of Jacksonville, NC, brother James Pankey (wife Sandra) of Rocky Point, NC, 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Prior to her illness Ruth, was an active member of Castle Hayne Baptist Church.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. 

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the workers from Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the loving care they provided to her.  They would also like to express thanks to the caregivers who faithfully attended her on a daily basis and for the services provided by the Home Delivered Meals Program.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.    A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.  Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
