Jackie "Jack" Keith Horn

It grieves us to announce the passing of our oldest son, 58 years old, Jackie (Jack) Keith Horn on December 30, 2025. Jack was brave and courageous in his battle with cancer.Those mourning his passing are his parents Rev. Don and Shirley Horn, his brothers Ronald Horn and David Horn, sister Donna Floyd (Kris), niece Cheyenne Horn, nephews Jacob Floyd, Jordan Floyd, Corey Horn and Dominic Horn, great-nephew Chandler Royal and lifelong friend Don Seagraves (Jamie King).He was an ‘85 graduate of Topsail High School and an ‘89 graduate of Wingate University. After college he worked at Sears Portrait Studio and WJKA-TV 26 in Wilmington. He then decided to get his master’s degree in Communications at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Texas. He worked in the Southern Baptist Radio and Television Commission while he was a seminary student and after graduating. When he moved back to NC, he worked in a high school in Jacksonville, later Time Warner and News 14 in Raleigh. His latest work was at UNCW in video production. Growing up at the beach, Jack loved surfing and anything sports related. Jackie was a kid at heart who loved to joke around, loved Porsche's, 80’s rock band The Cars, and any movies that were about superheroes. His winning smile brought him a lot of friends from NC to Texas to Puerto Rico and many other places. Thank you to Barbea Tripp (college friend) who started the “Prayer Warriors” to encourage Jackie along his journey.Many thanks to all those during these 19 months who sent cards, texts, gifts, money and continued prayers. Jackie and our family appreciated the phone calls and visits. Jackie became a Christian at an elementary age. In his character of caring and kindness he also would want you to receive Jesus as your Savior and join him in heaven. God Bless you all.                                                                                                                                                                   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 2, 2026, at Barlow Vista Baptist Church in Hampstead with burial to follow in Sea Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service at the church.
