James Francis Dolan

The Dolan family is sad to announce the passing of Jim, a Wilmington North Carolina resident since (1993). Jim moved to Wilmington after retiring from Con Edison as a compensation specialist. Prior to that he received a 3'rd Class Mates License and sailed in the Merchant Marine for a short period of time and went into the Navy as an officer. He served as an officer for 15 years and traveled to many countries throughout his navel career. Jim was predeceased by his brothers Jack Dolan of Wilmington (former NH commissioner), Bernie of New York and brother in-law Fr. Kieran Morrissey. He is survived by Joan Morrissey Dolan, his loving wife of 57 years, and (4) children, Jim Dolan, Cathy Dolan-Schweitzer, Maryellen Wright, Patricia Dolan and six grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, Michael Federighi, Brian, Scott and Kerri-Ann Dolan, Danielle and Jimmy Wright, Julia and Alexa Schweitzer. Jim's Sisters include Marge Kipp, Ann Kurtz, and Kay O'Connell, sister-in-law Agnes Dolan and his brother Pat Dolan of NY. Jim loved golfing, his dog Dasher, fishing and one of his favorite things later in life was meeting friends for coffee in the morning at Johnny Mercers pier. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at St. Mark Catholic Church.
