

On Wednesday, October 19, James Nash “Jim” Humphrey, beloved husband and Father, passed away at the age of 85. He was born to Eugene Humphrey and Fern Dunn Blackwell on November 8, 1936 in Lumberton, NC. He had a love of riding motorcycles in his younger days, and fishing, shrimping, and flounder gigging in the waters of Wilmington. Jim worked over 30 years as the Service Manager at Carolina Office Equipment Company and retired in early 2000. He loved to tinker in his garage on electronics and enjoyed spending time on his back porch with his many beloved family members and friends.
Jim is survived by his wife Sarah (Bobbie) and son, John Humphrey of the home, special daughter Janie Hutchens and 3 grandchildren, Ryder, Rylee & Alexis Hutchens of Bassett, VA, and sister Kay Powers. He leaves behind many sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. He was affectionately called Fluffy, a name given to him by his special daughter, and it stuck with him over many years. He made an impact on many people and will be forever missed by all.
Jim was preceded in death by his son, James Ronald (Ronnie) Humphrey; parents Eugene Humphrey and Fern Blackwell; grandson Cody Turner; and sister Jean Presswood.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 23 at Andrews Mortuary, 1617 Market St., Wilmington, with a Visitation from 1:00 PM until time of services.
