

Jimmy was the son of the late Eugene E. and Geneva D. Maynard. He was a graduate of New Hanover High School and Cape Fear Community College where he earned his Drafting Degree. He became a Mechanical Engineer spending his working career as a contractor and ultimately a valued employee of the GE Corporation. Jimmy was a beloved son, a loving brother, a person who loved animals and will be greatly missed.
He leaves behind his sister Rebecca Still and husband Ben of Wilmington; two brothers: Gerald Maynard of Fairmont, NC along with Gene Maynard and wife Anne of Wilmington. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A remembrance service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 1pm in the Chapel of Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service on Oleander Drive. A graveside service and interment will follow at Carvers Creek Methodist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers are: Adam Still, Michael Still, Jon Earnhart, Roland Ogundele, Al Warren and Richard Walters.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 7, 2012 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the Laurel visitation room. At other times friends may visit the home at 521 Tennessee Ave., Wilmington, NC.
