

James Kenneth McNeill, Sr. September 28, 1945 - February 3, 2010. After 64 wonderful years of loving his family and bringing smiles and laughs to all who crossed his path, James passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3rd at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Dillingham and his parents, Clarence Kenneth and Ada Mae McNeill. James was survived by his devoted wife of over 46 years, Martha Johnson McNeill, and a cherished brother, Robert William McNeill of Oak Island, NC. He will forever be remembered by his son James Kenneth McNeill, Jr. of Goldsboro, NC, three daughters, Jamie Mcneill Mynhier of Jacksonville, FL; Sharon McNeill Ingram of Savannah, GA and Karen McNeill Stanley of Wilmington, NC and their spouses. He treasured all ten of his grandchildren and great grandson dearly, along with countless family and friends. James worked for the Brunswick County School system for 16 years before he and Martha opened their first furniture store, The McNeill Company. Over the next 13 years their business thrived and eventually they retired in 2007. James answered to the names of honey, dad and paw paw. He loved metal detecting with his brother Bob, going to Hughes' at 5 am every morning, hunting, and fishing. He was just a simple man who touched the lives of everyone with his off the wall sense of humor and genuine kindness. A Visitation will be held at Andrews Mortuary, 1617 Market St., Wilmington, NC on Saturday, February 6, 2010 from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m.. A graveside service will be held immediately after at 2:00 p.m. at Wrightsboro Baptist Church cemetery off Castle Hayne Rd, Wilmington, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent in his name to The Hospitality House, 1612 Medical Center Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401. And as James would say ""I'm done talking now!""
